They are also trained to answer all patient’s needs including administering medications or providing transport to a medical appointment.

If patients do not require the combined service of a companion/homemaker, they can receive them separately. At ChampionChcs- Community HomeCare we see companionship care as providing older adults with a friend. Their primary responsibility is to spend time with their designated patient. They are also trained to do the following:

• Arrange transportation for their patients
• Read books to them.
• Play social and board games
• Walk with their patients
• Monitor the household

Homemaking is a more direct duty. Homemaking is something that comes as an addition to companionship care, but we also offer the service separately. If you chose a homemaker from our agency you will receive all benefits of a companion but additional services including:

• Doing the laundry and grocery shopping
• Preparing and administering the meals
• Cleaning the house and taking out the garbage
• Organizing the patient’s schedule
